About us

The Nigerian Assocation in Uppsala (NAIUS) is the umbrella body of all Nigerians living in Uppsala and its jurisdiction in Sweden. The association was founded in December, 2008 by all nigerians inrespective of religion, ethnicity and background. The formation became necessary when one Mr Paul, a Master’s Degree student in Uppsala University suddenly passed on and no group or association was available to coordinate his funeral in the absence of his family or next-of-kin. This singular honor has nurtured the growth of the association to overcome a lot of challenges. The objective of the association is to develop a plaform to communicate some major societal issues such as:
a. Brotherhood, Nigerian cultural heritage and the welfare of all Nigerians living in Uppsala and its environ.
b.Organising intergrating activities to promote diversity, inclusion and socialiation to build stronger and more cohesive society. It’s important to mention that every Nigerian in Uppsala should feel at home, a unique place to connect with like-minded individuals that can encourage sharing of knowledge, tools and expertise for common objective. The best way to achieve this is to become a member of the association in Uppsala, Sweden.
